HOW TO SETUP'>

Installing USB Canon PIXMA MG7720 Printer’s Driver (works for both Windows and Mac)—General Guidelines for Printers with Automatic Installation System

  1. Connect your printer Canon PIXMA MG7720 with your computer. Keep in mind that you must always use the USB port(s) on your computer without using a hub. And some printers may need to connect to a power source, too.
  2. Turn the unit on. The printer’s feed page mechanism may make some noise at this point while its LED indicator should come off.
  3. Devices that run on latest version of either Mac or Windows should be able to install the necessary files and programs right on, although internet connection might be needed too for the device to install them. For those who are using any of these devices, this would be all. For those running on an older version, read on.
  4. Use the installation CD that comes with the Canon PIXMA MG7720. Install necessary files that are in there, especially ones that the Mac or Windows device didn’t automatically install upon connecting the printer. The purpose of this step is to enable you to get the fullest advantages of printing features your unit is geared with. If the installation CD happens to be gone or lost, read on.
  5. Go to the download page (can be found below) to look for appropriate software. Download the file and begin running the software to install it on your computer. You must know your printer’s series at this stage, though.
  6. And that’s all there is. Once the installation is successful, you should by now be ready to use the unit.

A. Using Installation CD

Requirements:

  10. Select Open Print Queue.
  11. Select Printer.
  12. Select Print Test Page.

Requirements:

  1. A Linux-run device
  2. A Common Unix Printer Service (CUPS) installed on the device.

Guidelines:

  1. Run the computer and run the CUPS.
  2. Visit the web-based interface.
  3. Open a browser and navigate to localhost: 631.
  4. Connect the printer.
  5. On the browser, go to Administration tab and select Printers.
  6. Select Add Printer.
  7. Enter username and password.
  8. Your printer (Canon PIXMA MG7720) should be on the list displayed. Select it and press Continue.

  1. Press printer’s Home button.

Step 2

  1. Use navigation arrows to select WLAN Setup icon.
  2. Press the left function button.

Wi-Fi lamp will light up after enabling wireless connection. Printer searches for access that supports WPS.

Step 3

  1. Press and hold WPS button for 5 seconds, release.
  2. Press OK button after 2 minutes.
  3. After the connection is made, press OK to complete setup.

Standard Connection Method

Step 1

  1. Press printer’s Home button.

Step 2

  1. Use navigation arrows to select WLAN Setup icon.
  2. Press the left function button.

Wi-Fi lamp will light up after enabling wireless connection. Printer searches for access that supports WPS.

Step 3

  1. Press the Stop/Reset button
  2. Select Standard setup then press OK button to start process of standard setup.

Printer is searching for available wireless network.

  1. Use navigation arrows to select access point (the name of your network). Press OK.

Press left function button to search again if you cannot see your network on the list.

  1. Press OK to input/edit network password (case sensitive).
