Oct 20, 2019  I didn't have enough adjustment in the bed frame screws to level it in the x-axis and it also seems a bit off in the y-axis. Is this really just taken care of with mesh bed leveling? For a printer of this caliber, that seems unacceptable. Sure it works, but parts will never have walls perpendicular to floors/ceilings. So, has anyone dealt with.

This are the main parts of the Dual Titan design for the E3D BigBox just a bit cleaned.

Really we should edit this into the Wiki as a part of a Bigbox manual. It's obvious to all these experienced and clever people, but like you.

There are two versions of the X carriage, one with a sensor mount for an inductive proximity sensor with an M18x1.5 thread.

What I did:

X carriage

  • removed the cable mounts on the back, mine always broke and I didn't use them anyways
  • fixed the hex nut cutouts for the endstop so they print better
  • changed the cutouts for the belt, on the left side more tooth for better grip, change the screw position so the belt has a tighter fit
  • filled the cable path for the endstop, didn't get the cable in and didn't use it
  • fixed and added fillets where they were obviously missing
  • filled the cutouts for a back fan mount, at least that's what I assumed they are for but there is not enough space to mount a fan on the back

X idler

  • also changed the belt mounts
  • moved the endstop screw 1.5mm to the back to have an even better position
  • fixed the big round cutout
  • made the hole for the back rod go through all, I was able to mount the X axis without removing the Y axis then with a little bending...
