And ahlf inches i know from my after market manual that the filter is at the tank and secured with a bracket.
3Did a little research. Most sites are saying that it's under the vehicle kind of underneath the driver. Odd placement for it.
Begining in the 2006 module year, General motors placed the fuel filter INSIDE the fuel tank as part of the fuel pump/sending module assembly. Fuel filters on 2006 and newer GM trucks are NOT serviceable seperatly from the fuel pump assembly.
I asked a GMC dealer in Mobile and was told that the fuel filter on the 4.6 engine was located on the frame just in front of the gas tank.On all other trucks the fuel filter is located in the gas tank. The 4.6 is the only one that is located outside the gas tank. However, so far I have not been able to locate it.

I have a 1990 gmc seirra 1500 4X4 with the 5.7 350 in it....im having trouble with it missing and backfiring thru the intake after it warms up...it runs fine cold....i 've replaced the plugs , wires , cap , button , and fuel filter and the fuel pump is about three yrs old...any ideas or experiences?3 Answers
It seems to me like its choking itself to death....make sense?.....what would cause that?
I have a 1989 350 5.7 TbI and I have a 96 GMC 1500 with a 305 5.0L Vortec with over 250,000 miles can I use the the heads from the Votec 305 5.0L on the 350 5.7L TBI? If so should I change the cam if so what do you recommend this is gonna be a show/driver what kind of cam and lifters do you suggest and what all do I need to do the heads (valve job, replace lifters, rockers) and what should I do to the block seeing that it only has a few miles since rebuild 3 Answers

Iv got a 98 gmc 1500, just put a new jasper 350 in the other day and cant get started. i have fuel, compression, and spark, i know i have to time it with the computer once its started. but i cant get it started. any ideas? im sure i have it timed right, but also this distributer does not have the timing markings.11 Answers
1998 GMC 1500 sierra 5.7 350
I have a 1994 gmc z71 with the 5.7 engine. When the truck gets to normal operating temp it loads up and stalls at low rpm's. The only way it will restart is holding the gas pedal to the floor. 2 Answers
I have replaced both injectors, fuel filter and complete tune up including the coil and the distributor pick up. Any help would be great.
