Nihon Kohden's mission is to utilize its leading edge technology and products to support medical treatment in all clinical areas from emergency response to testing, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. In addition to clinical treatment, Nihon Kohden products play an active role outside the hospital, such as in health improvement and home. Nihon Kohden’s breakthrough technology supports clinicians in testing more patients with enhanced information available from analysis.

Your new battery comes in a discharged condition and must be charged before use (refer to your Medical Equipment for charging instructions). Upon initial use (or after a prolonged storage period) the battery may require two to three charge/discharge cycles before achieving maximum capacity.

When charging the battery for the first time your Medical Equipment may indicate that charging is complete after just 10 or 15 minutes. This is a normal phenomenon with rechargeable batteries. Simply remove the Nihon Kohden battery from the Medical Equipment and repeat the charging procedure.

It is important to condition (fully discharge and then fully charge) battery every two to three weeks. Failure to do so may significantly shorten the battery's life (this does not apply to Li-Ion batteries, which do not require conditioning). To discharge, simply run your device under the battery's power until it shuts down or until you get a low battery warning. Then recharge the battery as instructed in your user's manual.

If the batteries will not be in use for a month or longer, it is recommended that it be removed from the device and stored in a cool, dry, clean place. It is normal for replacement battery to become warm during charging and discharging.

A charged battery replacement will eventually lose its charge if unused. It may therefore be necessary to recharge the battery after a storage period.

DESCRIPTION

Nihon Kohden's compact portable Cardiolife TEC-8300 defibrillators are ideal for emergency use. Charging and recovery are quick. These devices support AED (automatic external defibrillator) mode, and are equipped with a high-resolution TFT colour display. SpO2 and CO2 measurement is supported.
Cardiolife TEC-8300 defibrillators enable defibrillation using a low-energy biphasic impulse curve. Defibrillation with a biphasic impulse curve takes less energy than the usual monophasic defibrillation, causing less damage to the cardiac muscle. Biphasic technology gives you better results in keeping patients from sudden cardiac arrest.
This unit supports AED (automatic extended defibrillation) using an adapter cable for optional disposable shock pads. As soon as the unit detects a defibrillated rhythm, the TEC-8300 will start to charge for hands-free defibrillation. A signal tone will sound to optimise resuscitation activity timing.
