NO IDEA WHAT ALL THESE OPTIONS ARE, help?!
I just got a Smok OSUB 40W Kit and I have absolutely no clue what all these options on it are, and the instruction manual is completely worthless.
Whats the difference between Temp and Watt? They have 2 options, and one is temp, so i looked it up, and someone said vape at 420, so i set it to 420, but when i click the button it only goes up to like a 100? doesnt even get close to 420? then theres wattage, ohms( a setting for adjust initial ohms), volts, 3 different options then an option for coil that says TC-ss TC-ni TC-ti, i have absolutely no clue what this is the thing came with a coil it doesnt say anywhere on it what kind it is. Im not getting a real fruity flavor, i feel like im burning the coil head already cause im not doing it right.
Seriously this is so confusing, and all the youtube tutorials are so in depth and for experienced users only talking about mods I have like, zero clue what is going on here. I really need help and if someone could explain this to me. Whats the difference between Temp and Watt, and why when i switch to temp does the thing not even go past 100 when i have it set to 420, same with the volts, its 8, but it hovers around 3? I am seriously totally lost. Please help me.

Tc is temperature control. If you're using the coils that came in the kit you shouldn't be running tc. Put it on watt. Set it at 20 watts to start and adjust it up or down from there

Welcome to TVF Norjak.
Being a newbie, I suggest you start by using it on power mode (wattage) only - chances are that is what the coil is designed for anyway. As Don29 indicated start vaping at 20W and work your way up from there. There is lots of stuff to learn but it will all come in time. There is a FAQ section that will explain just about anything you can think of, and feel free to ask away, we were all newbies once and we still ask questions all of the time.

wow you guys were quick to reply thank you so much. and yes, i get the watts thing, thats about all i get right now lol. i had an ecto 1300 and that was pretty much just drop in the liquid, adjust airflow, smoke, and now ive upgraded to the big boy league and things are very confusing. im at 29.5 right now, i smoked cigs and vaped constantly before, so handling it isnt a problem, but im worried i might be burning out the coil, at first i had a nice fruity taste but now its getting more bland.
when i have it on wattage only, the temp volt is an option, and i have it at 10, but the screen only says 6, is that for temp control too? at least that would explain one thing. i feel like most of these options on here are for temp control.
what about initial ohms? i dont wanna flood this thread with noobie questions so if im rambling just tell me to go elsewhere

Can you read any of the writing on the coil? From what I can see from the net the atomizer comes with a .4ohm coil installed. It should be good at 20 watts to start. DO NOT USE TC! TC is for more advanced users. You must have the correct coils for that. It is a good idea to watch some of the youtube videos to help with your kit. The kit you have is a good starter kit.

so the settings like adjust initial ohm, tc-ni-ss-ti, volts, are all for TC? cause i changed some, before switching back to wattage mode, that wont affect anything since im on wattage now right?

Welcome to TVF NorJak. This is a great place to ask questions, we have some great members who are always happy to assist. The Ohms/Resistance is determined by the coil you are using in your tank. Since it's a 40W mod, I would us a coil rated below .5 Ohms. Here are some articles in the FAQ section with additional information. With vaping, there is always additional information to learn.

Both your coils are for wattage mode. I wouldn't worry about temp control mode for now, you will need to buy coils that are designed for temp control before you can use that mode properly. I assume you still have the first (pre-installed) coil in the tank? If so, you can play around with the wattage (W) between 20-45W. And try different air flow too until you find something your happy with. It is possible you have your coil burned out/wick burned from trying out the different settings in the beginning. If after using it a bit more you feel that it is, you could always throw in your second coil and try that it. The second one is a 1 ohm single clapton, you can use that in wattage mode 20-35w safely, until you find what you like. Do you know the VG/PG ratio of your e-juice?

none of the options like initial ohms will be for wattage will they? cause i think i changed that up and dont know what it should be at.

Ok, you shouldn't have any trouble vaping it in that tank. Reason I asked was because some thicker, high VG (80+) juices don't wick as well in those tanks, so chain vaping can cause dry hits, due to the juice not wicking fast enough. Does it have a burnt taste? Or are you just not getting the flavor you expected?

Safety Instructions

1) Charge the battery indoors only; 2) Do not use any power source that does not have a local legal manufacturing license.

Components

Nord Device

  1. Large battery capacity: Built-in 1100mAh rechargeable battery.
  2. When vaping, the LED light will turn white; without pod, the LED light will flash 4 times.
  3. 8 seconds protection: When the power button is held for longer than 8 seconds, the battery will automatically shut down the output and LED light will flash 5 times.
  4. When charging, the LED shows different colors according to the power status. Red light will on when battery power is lower than 30% (battery voltage <3.6V); orange light will on when power is between 30% to 70% (battery voltage: 3.6V-3.9V); and green light will on when power is between 70% to 100% (battery voltage: 3.9V-4.08V). After fully charged (battery voltage >4.08V), the light will off.
  5. Pod Detection: When the pod is installed, the light will on for one second.
  6. Short Circuit Protection: if a load short circuit is detected, the white LED light will flash 4 times. 7. Low Voltage Protection: when battery capacity is lower than 3.3V, the LED light will flash 15 times.
  7. Lithium Battery Protection: over discharge voltage is 2.4V, overcharge voltage is 4.3V, overcharge current is 1A. Note: After vaping for some time, if there is any water vapor gathering on the contact point between the pod and the mod, please clean the water vapor before you reuse it. Too much accumulated water vapor would block the junction and affect the functionality.

SMOK Nord Operation Guide

  1. To turn power on/ off: fast press power button 5 times in succession to power on or off, and the white LED light will flash 3 times.
  2. Long press the power button to vape.
  3. Press power button twice, and then LED shows different colors according to the power status. Red for battery power lower than 30%, orange for battery power between 30%-70%, and green for battery power higher than 70%. 4.Charge the battery via the USB cable included.

Pull out the pod; 2. Pull out the rubber plug on the slot; 3. Add e-liquid through the slot; 4. Press the rubber plug back carefully and firmly.
