This Kenwood: TS-2000 transceiver has dual processors (DSP) digital signal processing the signals IF and AF. Making the most of technology DSP, the TS-2000 (X) / TS-B2000 offers greater capacity for interference reduction and improves the quality of the audio that transmits without the need to install additional analog filters. You will notice the difference when you fight against QRM and QRN. To learn how to use this transceiver, you will also find KENWOOD pursues the 'ease of use'. For example, whenever you change the number of the menu in the Menu mode, you will see messages scrolling on the screen that will indicate what is selecting. Although it is easy to use, this transceiver is technically sophisticated, and some features may be new to you. Consider this manual as a tutorial staff of designers. Allow manual guide you through the learning process now, and act as a reference in the coming years.

Keep in mind the following precautions to prevent fire, personal injury and damage to the radio: Connect the radio only to a power supply described in this manual or on your own radio. Route all cables power safely. Make sure that power cords will not be stepped on or pinched by items placed near or against the wires. Pay special attention to places near AC receptacles, AC outlets and points of entry to the transceiver. Be careful of not letting falling objects or spill liquids on the radio through the openings in the enclosure. Metal objects, such as pins or needles, inserted into the transceiver may come into contact with voltages that cause serious electric shock. Never allow children to insert objects into the transceiver. Do not attempt to override the methods used for grounding and electrical polarization on the transceiver, in particular with the power input cable. Properly connect all external antennas for this transceiver using approved methods. Grounding helps protect against voltage peaks caused by the rays. It also reduces the possibility of a buildup of static charge.
An antenna system consists of an antenna, power and land line. The transceiver can give excellent results if the antenna system and its installation receive special attention. Use a correctly adjusted 50立 of the good quality antenna, the coaxial cable of high-quality 50立 and first quality connectors. All connections must be clean and tight. After making the connections, adjust the impedance of coaxial cable and antenna so that the SWR is 1.5: 1 or less. High SWR will dropping the transmission output and can lead to radio frequency interference to consumer products such as televisions and stereo receivers. It can even interfere with their own transceiver. The reports that your signal is distorted could indicate that your antenna system is not efficiently radiating power of the transceiver. Connect your primary line of HF antenna power / 50 MHz to ANT 1 on the rear of the transceiver. If you are using two antennas HF / 50 MHz, connect the secondary antenna to ANT 2. Connect the antennas VHF (144 MHz), UHF (430/440 MHz) and 1.2 GHz (TS-2000 / TS-B2000 optional) to their respective antenna connectors on the rear of the transceiver.
